King George is a family owned and operated lavender farm in Barnwell, SC. George Poole grew up on a dairy farm in Central NY and has had a love of animals and the satisfaction of growing his own crops. Elinor has had a love of gardening and horticulture most of her life with a specific love of lavender.

George Poole grew up on a dairy farm in Central NY and has had a love of animals and the satisfaction of growing his own crops. Elinor has had a love of gardening and horticulture most of her life with a specific love of lavender.
Their two loves have been a perfect match in marriage and helping them realize their dream of opening a lavender farm.
George and Elinor moved to SC from NY in 2016 and purchased an 80 acre farm, since then they have expanded the farm by adding 35 acres this past fall. We are currently growing 8,000 lavender plants.
The business is supported by their daughter Jessica, son Nathan, son-in-law Nick and two grand-daughters Ella and Addie.

When you arrive, please stop in the shop for picking instructions. We will provide scissors and rubber bands for harvesting. Please DO NOT bring these items from home as they can spread diseases in our fields. Once you have finished picking, you can check out in the shop. Cut lavender bundles will be priced by the bundle sizes pick. Bundles will be measured at checkout.
If you don't want to pick your own, don't worry we've got your covered. Fresh bundles will be available for purchase at the farm.

Some Guidelines
Our farm is set up to be family friendly but as with any farm activity, this can present dangers. Red ants do set up homes in the plants from time to time. We try to keep this under control as much as possible but please avoid any plants that are “mounded” with sand. We do keep our field neat and the grass cut short, but closed toe shoe

We try to keep this under control as much as possible but please avoid any plants that are “mounded” with sand. We do keep our field neat and the grass cut short, but closed toe shoes are recommended. We have a large 1 acre pond with a fountain, please keep an eye on children so they do not get too close to the edge. We also have an electric fence around the horse pasture, touching the fence will result in a shock. Please view the horses from a distance and do not attempt to feed them or enter the pasture!
